清代扶手椅中凡形体较大，庄严而华贵的款式都可称为”太师椅“。太师椅的形式特征和装饰意匠在清式家具中成为突出的典型，也是清代扶手椅的代表。灵芝太师椅用料厚实，雕饰繁多，制作精细，特别是椅背中间用一圆形尺璧作装饰，气派很大，非一般人家使用。
